KOKOMO, Ind. — Indiana University Kokomo used balanced scoring and control of the glass to earn a 75–51 River States Conference victory over Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Tuesday evening at the Student Activities & Events Center.
The Cougars built an early advantage and led 40–20 at halftime before extending the margin in the second half. IU Kokomo held a steady edge throughout the contest, pushing its lead to as many as 27 late in the fourth quarter.
Talyssa Moody paced SMWC with 11 points, connecting on three three-pointers, while
Abigail Parker added 10 points.
Elayni Stone contributed nine points, and the Pomeroys knocked down nine shots from beyond the arc on the night.
IU Kokomo placed five players in double figures, led by Kelsi Langley's 12 points. Mia Catey recorded a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds as the Cougars finished with a 52–34 rebounding advantage.
SMWC shot 27.4 percent from the field, while IU Kokomo converted at a 44.8 percent clip and added 36 points in the paint.
The Pomeroys return home on Saturday, January 24, to host Kentucky Christian at 1 p.m. (ET) inside the Jeanne Knoerle Sports and Recreation Center.
