Bloomfield, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College equestrian team turned in an outstanding weekend at the IU Western Show, claiming High Point Team honors and showcasing strong performances across multiple divisions. The Pomeroys rode with confidence and consistency in both the Rookie and Horsemanship classes, earning a series of top finishes that secured team-wide recognition.
Leading the way was Bella Monnett, who delivered a string of standout rides across multiple events. Her first-place finish in Reining and top-three efforts in Open Horsemanship powered her to Reserve High Point Rider honors, capping off a stellar weekend.
The Pomeroys' depth was on display with multiple riders placing in the top five of their divisions. Rookie riders Bella Parker, Jessica Andres, Trinity Hudnall, Andrea Davidson, and Elizabeth Hoagland each earned strong placings, while Liberty Fourman notched a runner-up ride in Rookie A. In the Beginner division, Marissa Burnett, Brooklyn Newbold, Ashley Haraway, and Xander Howells added valuable team points with top-five finishes.
SMWC also excelled in the Horsemanship classes, with Claire Coryell, Clair Schoettmer, Courtney Hamrick, Carmen Creech, Kinsey Hall, Abby Sweet, and Hannah Rogers all contributing key placings to the team total.
The Pomeroys return to the arena next weekend, competing at the IU Hunt Seat Show in Zionsville, Ind. on September 20–21.
