MILL SPRING, N.C. — Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College sophomore
Claire Coryell delivered a standout performance on the national stage Sunday morning, finishing fifth in the Individual Level II Horsemanship at the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) National Championships at Tryon International.
Coryell's top-five finish places her among the best riders in the country in her division, capping a strong season for the Pomeroys' equine program. Competing against a highly competitive field of qualifiers from across the nation, Coryell showcased poise and precision in the horsemanship class to secure the national placement.
The result continues a successful weekend for SMWC at IHSA Nationals, as
Jaden Perry previously recorded a top-eight national finish with an eighth-place showing in the Open Equitation Over Fences on Friday.
