SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. — The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's volleyball team continued its strong start to the 2025 campaign with a 3-1 victory over Goshen College on Saturday morning at the Jeanne Knoerle Center.
The Pomeroys dropped the opening set 25-18 but stormed back to take the next three by scores of 25-17, 25-12 and 25-19 to secure their ninth win of the season, improving to 9-1 overall.

Karla Melendez led the way for SMWC with a match-high 12 kills to go along with 5 service aces and 9 digs. Senior middle blocker
Masa Pesic added 11 kills and 4 blocks, while
Felicia Omosebi contributed 7 kills and a team-best 5 blocks. Setter
Aden Britt paced the offense with 20 assists and chipped in 7 digs.
The Pomeroys dominated from the service line, finishing with 10 aces compared to four for the Maple Leafs. SMWC also posted a .248 hitting percentage on the day while holding Goshen to just .077.
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods will not have to wait long to get back on the court, returning to action later today at 2 p.m. (ET) against Great Lakes Christian as part of the Showdown in the Woods presented by the Terre Haute Convention and Visitors Bureau.
