SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. – Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College volleyball continued its strong start to the 2025 campaign Saturday morning with a straight-set victory over Great Lakes Christian College at the Knoerle Center. The Pomeroys cruised to a 25-13, 25-15, 25-13 win to improve to 10-1 on the season.
Nemayshka Carrasquillo paced the Pomeroys with a match-high 12 kills, while
Evelyn Morales added seven kills and two blocks.
Lisanel Rodriguez provided a spark from the service line with five aces and chipped in six digs. Setter
Ariana Cruz-Gonzalez directed the offense with 18 assists, while
Harper Ash added 14. Defensively, Rodriguez,
Selena Sosa and
Daniella Zvonar each collected six digs.
SMWC hit .313 as a team while holding Great Lakes Christian (0-5) to a -.046 attack percentage. The Pomeroys tallied 42 kills to the visitors' 12 and finished with 13 service aces.
The Pomeroys wrap up the Showdown in the Woods, presented by the Terre Haute Convention and Visitors Bureau, tonight at 6 p.m. (ET) when they host IU-Northwest in the final match of the week.
