TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Junior Macie Shirk fired a 77 (+5) to pace the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) women's golf team on Sunday at The Country Club of Terre Haute during the opening round of the 2025 Indiana State University Spring Invitational. The Pomeroys posted a team score of 324 (+36) to stand in seventh place after round one.
The Country Club of Terre Haute played to a par 72 at 5,960 yards on Sunday, offering a classic layout with tree-lined fairways, subtle undulations, and fast greens that challenged all 54 players in the field.
Shirk is tied for 14th place on the individual leaderboard following a steady round that included a front-nine 38 and a back-nine 39.
Brooklee Bussing also turned in a strong performance, carding a 79 (+7) and tying for 21st overall.
Renae Jaeger finished with an 83 (+11), Sophia Boyll shot 85 (+13), and
Emily Vandall rounded out the team with a 101 (+29). Three Pomeroys competed as individuals:
Claire Thompson (86), Brianna Andreas (90), and
Kristin Pagach (95).
