DANIELS, W.V. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's golf team wrapped up its 2025 campaign with a third-place finish at the River States Conference Championships, held April 27–29 at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, West Virginia.
Competing on the par-72, 5,969-yard Cobb Course, the Pomeroys posted a three-round total of 985 (326-328-331), fending off a tight field to secure their second straight top-three finish at the conference tournament. Midway University, ranked No. 33 nationally, claimed the RSC title with a team score of 972, followed by Indiana University East in second at 979.
SMWC was led by sophomore
Sophie Boyll, who tied for sixth place individually with a 243 (79-79-85).
Renae Jaeger (245, 79-86-80) placed ninth, and
Brooklee Bussing (248, 84-82-82) tied for 10th. All three earned
Second Team All-River States Conference honors for their efforts, finishing among the top 10 golfers in the field of 38.
Also contributing to the team's strong performance were
Kristin Pagach (260, 95-81-84) in 16th place and
Macie Shirk (265, 84-91-90) in 19th. The Pomeroys displayed depth throughout the lineup, with four players finishing inside the top 20.
Midway's Jalyn Bruns of Indiana East took individual medalist honors with a 236 (80-78-78), while a three-way tie for second included Midway's Kasey Cameron and IU Kokomo's Hailey Stegemann at 239.
Oakland City University (1,030) and Indiana University Kokomo (1,035) followed SMWC in the standings, while Shawnee State and Rio Grande rounded out the field in sixth and seventh, respectively.
