RICHMOND, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's golf team captured the team championship at the Forest Hills Women's Collegiate Tournament on Friday (April 18), finishing with a two-round total of 678 at Forest Hills Country Club. The course played to a par-72, 5,850-yard layout.
The Pomeroys recorded team scores of 338 and 340 in the 36-hole event to earn the top spot on the leaderboard. Sophomore
Sophie Boyll finished tied for second in the individual standings, firing back-to-back rounds of 82 to finish at 164.
SMWC defeated a competitive field, including IU-East (679), Midway (688), Oakland City (704), Wooster (716) and Rio Grande (Ohio) (787).
Rounding out the scoring for SMWC's championship team were
Macie Shirk (80-88—168),
Renae Jaeger (89-83—172),
Kristin Pagach (87-88—175), and
Brooklee Bussing (89-87—176).

The Pomeroys will now turn its focus to the River States Conference Championships, set for April 27–29 in Daniels, West Virginia.
