TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's golf team finished in fourth place among the seven-team field competing this weekend at the Great Lakes Women's Intercollegiate — hosted by Rose-Hulman. The tournament was held at the Hulman Links Golf Course — a par-72, 5,600-yard layout.
The Pomeroys were fourth in the team standings with an opening round score of 342 and came back with a score of 340 in the second round which was divided into a pair of nine hole segments. They finished with a two-day team score of 642 which was ahead of Hanover, Millikin and Danville Area CC.
SMWC will return to action on April 6 & 7 when they take part in the ISU Spring Invitational at The Country Club of Terre Haute.
Individually, Renae Jaeger recorded an opening round of 81 and came back with a 79 for a total of 160 and a tie for 7th place. Sophie Boyll recorded a 76 during the first round and an 84 in the second for a total of 160 which also tied for 7th.
Emily Vandall recorded a round of 86 in the opener and posted an 85 in the second round for a total of 171 which was 21st. Brianna Andreas opened play with a 91 and came back with an 85 during the second round for a total of 176 and was in 23rd place.
Sophie Thompson recorded an opening round of 94 and had a 92 in the second round for a total of 186 for a 28th place finish. Phoebe Henderson finished 32nd with an opening round of 94 and a 103 in the second for a total of 197.
Gabbi Flath posted a first round score of 95 and owed a 109 in the second for a total of 204 which was in 33rd place. Rounding out the lineup is Ashtyn Witte with a opening round of 107 and a 97 in the second for a total of 204 which was also in 33rd.
