TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's golf team currently stands in fourth place among the seven-team field competing this weekend at the Great Lakes Women's Intercollegiate — hosted by Rose-Hulman. The tournament is being held at the Hulman Links Golf Course — a par-72, 5,600-yard layout.
The Pomeroys are fourth in the team standings with an opening round score of 342 and coming back with a score of 172 through the first nine holes of the second round. The team total of 514 is ahead of Hanover, Millikin and Danville Area CC.
The event will finish on Sunday, March 30 in the morning ahead of Sunday's predicted inclement weather. Rose-Hulman leads the event with a score of 464.
Individually, Renae Jaeger recorded an opening round of 81 and came back with a 38 later for a total of 119 and currently is in sixth place. Sophie Boyll recorded a 76 during the full round and stands at 44 in the afternoon for a total of 120 which is in eighth.
Emily Vandall recorded a round of 86 in the opener and posted a 42 in the afternoon for a total of 128 which is currently in 19th place. Brianna Andreas opened play with a 91 and came back with a 44 during the second round for a total of 135 and is in 24th place.
Sophie Thompson recorded an opening round of 94 and has a 47 so far in the second round for a total of 141 which is in 30th place. Phoebe Henderson is currently in 32nd place with an opening round of 94 and a 52 in the afternoon for a total of 146.
Gabbi Flath posted a first round score of 96 and owns a 54 in the second round for a total of 150 which is in 33rd place. Rounding out the lineup is Ashtyn Witte with a opening round of 107 and a 49 in the evening for a total of 156 which is 34th.
