SYLVANIA, Ohio — The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's basketball team dropped a road contest at Lourdes University, 117–45, on Friday afternoon at the Ebeid Recreation Center.
Lourdes jumped out to an early advantage, outscoring the Pomeroys 31–9 in the opening quarter and maintaining control throughout the contest. The Gray Wolves shot 56.6 percent from the field and finished with 53 rebounds and 33 assists.
Abigail Parker led Saint Mary-of-the-Woods with a team-high 14 points, knocking down five field goals and two 3-pointers.
Talyssa Moody added 11 points off the bench, connecting on three shots from the floor and two from beyond the arc.
SMWC was outpaced on the boards, 53–28, and finished the game shooting 28.8 percent from the field. The Pomeroys recorded 22 bench points and forced eight Lourdes turnovers.
Kaylona Butler paced Lourdes with a game-high 39 points, while Emma Pedroza posted a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Lourdes improved to 10–1 overall and 6–1 in conference play.
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, with a road non-conference matchup at IU Columbus. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. (ET).
