SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. – Five members of the
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's soccer team earned recognition among the
2025 All-River States Conference (RSC) postseason honorees, highlighting another milestone season under head coach
Ron Kiernicki.
Ivan Gelado Chavala was named to the
All-RSC Second Team, while
Franco Mauri,
Jaime Gayol Pertierra, and
Andoni Ybanez each earned
All-RSC Third Team selections.
Jayden Moore was honored as SMWC's
RSC Champions of Character representative.
The Pomeroys advanced to the
RSC Tournament Quarterfinals for the second straight year and
hosted a postseason match for the first time in program history, continuing their upward climb in the conference standings.
Gayol Pertierra led the team with
10 goals and 1 assist (21 points) across 17 appearances, including a
hat trick in SMWC's 3–1 win at Calumet (Ind.) on September 5. He tallied a .345 shooting percentage with three game-winning goals.
Gelado Chavala followed closely behind with
8 goals and 4 assists (20 points) in 18 matches, producing a .735 shots-on-goal percentage while providing creativity and composure in the attack.
Ybanez was a key spark up front, scoring
8 goals with 3 assists (19 points) while firing 46 total shots. He recorded a
hat trick in SMWC's 5–2 road victory at Brescia (Ky.) on October 30, clinching the Pomeroys' first-ever home RSC Quarterfinal match.
Mauri anchored the midfield and back line, contributing
3 goals and 1 assist (7 points) in 19 matches while maintaining a .700 shots-on-goal percentage, showcasing his two-way impact and consistency throughout the year.
Moore's selection as the
RSC Champions of Character honoree recognizes his leadership and commitment to the NAIA's five core values—respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership, and sportsmanship—both on and off the field.
