Pomeroys Close Strong in Fourth but Fall at Unbeaten Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's basketball team fell on the road Wednesday evening, dropping a 77–50 decision to unbeaten Georgetown (Ky.) inside Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.

The Pomeroys battled through an efficient second half and outscored the Tigers 33–31 after halftime, but Georgetown's fast start—23 points in each of the opening two quarters—created a gap SMWC couldn't overcome.

Jonnaya Harris paced the Pomeroys with 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals in 35 minutes. Abigail Parker added 11 points and four rebounds, while Samara Douglas provided an efficient spark off the bench with eight points on 4-for-6 shooting. SMWC finished with 37 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive glass.

Georgetown moved to 7–0 behind a balanced attack and a 36-point bench performance.

SMWC (0–4) returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 15, with a 1 p.m. (ET) road matchup at Spring Arbor (Mich.).
