The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College equestrian team turned in a strong performance at the Purdue Western Show this past weekend, highlighted by a Reserve High Point Team finish on Saturday and individual accolades that added to the Pomeroys' momentum heading into Homecoming week.

On Sunday, Bella Monnet claimed High Point Rider honors, pacing the Pomeroys with first-place finishes in reining and a strong runner-up ride in horsemanship. Her consistent performances led SMWC to a standout weekend against regional competition.

Saturday brought another major milestone as Bella Parker secured a victory in Rookie B and officially pointed out of the rookie division, qualifying her for the IHSA Regional Championships later this season.

The Pomeroys now turn their attention to hosting the SMWC Homecoming Invitational, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, October 4-5, beginning at 9 a.m. (ET) each day at the Mari Hulman George School for Equine Studies. Fans and alumni are encouraged to attend and support the team during Homecoming festivities.
