ZIONSVILLE, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College equestrian team turned in a strong weekend at the Butler Hunt Seat Invitational, highlighted by individual class wins and a top-four team finish.
On Saturday, the Pomeroys placed
fourth overall.
Halle Minton captured first place in Intermediate Fences aboard SMWC's own Max, while
Courtney Hamrick earned top honors in Limit Flat. Teammates
Savanna Amschl,
Abbigael Coyle, and
Amelia Denault each secured top-three finishes in their respective classes.
Sunday's competition showcased the team's consistency across divisions. Amschl highlighted the day by pointing out of Limit Flat, officially qualifying for the IHSA Regional Championships.
Jaden Perry also delivered a standout ride, winning the Open Fences class.
The Pomeroys now turn their attention to their home arena, where they will host the
SMWC Hunt Seat Invitational on Nov. 8-9 at the Mari Hulman George School of Equine Studies. Competition will begin at 9 a.m. each day.
