Box Score MIDDLETON, Ohio – For the second time in the last four games, the SMWC basketball team has scored over 100 points in a game. This time it was against the Lady ThunderHawks of Miami University-Middletown. Six Pomeroys scored in double-figures and SMWC won its first road game of the season 109-67.
The Pomeroys were led by Mikayla Metheny and Stephanie Moore who had a team-high 17 points. Other Pomeroys scoring in double-figures where Hailee Rittinger (15 pts.), Sierra Lopez (14 pts.), Ja'Breena Gardner (13 pts.), and Mikayla Kinneer (12 pts.). Gardner secured her first double-double of the season as she also had a team-high 12 rebounds and 7 steals.
Rittinger and Moore combined for 9 of 18 total three-point baskets made by the Pomeroys in the game. Miami-Middletown did not make a three-point basket, going 0-7 for the game. SMWC was also able to score 30 points off 32 Lady ThunderHawk turnovers.
SMWC led 60-34 at the half and never looked back. The last time the Pomeroys hit the century mark was their 118-48 win over Southern State Community College during the first game of the season.
The Pomeroy record improves to 2-2 on the season. They will be back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 20 when they travel to Owensboro, Ky. in a matchup with Brescia University. Game time is set for a 7 p.m. start.
