Nancy Sikobe was hired as the Head Women's Volleyball Coach on Monday, March 2, 2020.
Professional Coaching Experience
Sikobe is no stranger to leading an intercollegiate women's volleyball team as she has done so for 11 seasons.
Most previously, she served as the head coach at Dillard University. From 2016-2019, she led the Blue Devils to an overall record of 70-70 (.500) record. Prior to DU, she spent one season at Texas College. In her very first head coaching position at Wiley College, she coached for six total seasons and racked up 121 wins. From 2009-2014, the Wildcats team recorded six winning seasons and an overall record of 121-60 (.668).
Throughout her coaching career, she sits with a total of 193 victories.
Semi-Professional Playing Experience
Nancy represented Kenya in various National and Internation women's volleyball contests at the semi-professional level. In 1991, she was a captain for the Kenya National team who played in the World Cup. They finished in 11th place that season competing in Sendai, Japan.
In 1992, she played in the World Club Championship in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and was a captain of the Telkom Kenya team. In 1993, she was captain of the Telkom Kenya team and won the African Club Championship. In 1994, she was captain of the Telkom Kenya team and won the African Club Championship in Cairo, Egypt.
In 1995, she was captain of the Kenya National Team in the All-African Games in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Additionally, she was captain of the Kenya National team in the World Cup in Osaka, Japan. In 1996, she was captain of the Telkom Kenya team and won the African Club Championship in Kwara State, Nigeria. During 1998, she was captain of the Telkom Kenya Team and won the African Club Championship in Cairo, Egypt.
In 1999, she was captain of the Telkom Kenya Team in the Africa Club Championship in Tunis, Tunisia. In 2001, she played for the Telkom Kenya Team in the Africa Club Championship in Algiers, Algeria. In 2002, she served as captain of the Telkom Kenya Team and won the African Club championship in Tlemcen, Algeria.
Intercollegiate Playing Experience
Sikobe graduated from Central Methodist University with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. She was also a member of the Eagles highly-known NAIA volleyball program.
As a transfer in 2004, Nancy was named America Midwest Conference Freshman Player of the Year, alongside American Midwest Conference All-Conference Honorable Mention. In 2005 and 2007, she earned Heart of American Conference All-Conference Honorable Mention twice.
Before playing at the four-year Central Methodist University. Nancy attended Columbia College Missouri where she earned her Associate's Degree in General Studies.
Personal
Nancy was born on Saturday, August 15, 1970, in Luanda, Kenya. She has two children, Bush Tom Wamukota (son) and Tracey Melisa Mwenesi (daughter). In her spare time, she likes traveling and watching athletic events. Her all-time favorite leader is Hon. Alfred Kha'ngati, he introduced her to volleyball and believed in her when she did not believe in herself.
Currently, she resides in Terre Haute, Indiana.
