Saint Mary-of-the-Woods

Zane Latta enters his second season as an assistant coach with the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men’s basketball program in 2026-27, continuing to contribute to the development and daily operations of the Pomeroys.

In his first season on staff, Latta played a role in helping guide SMWC to the River States Conference Tournament while assisting in the development of three All-River States Conference Second Team selections in Taray Howell, Mike Ajukwa, and Ellis Todd. He also contributed to player development efforts and game preparation as the Pomeroys established a strong defensive identity under the new coaching staff.

Latta is a graduate of Indiana State University, bringing regional ties and familiarity with the Wabash Valley to the program. Known for his energy and attention to detail, he continues to assist in scouting, skill development, and supporting the program’s culture of toughness, connectedness, and growth.
