Saint Mary-of-the-Woods

Nico Soto enters his second season as an assistant coach with the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men’s basketball program in 2026-27, continuing to support the Pomeroys in player development, scouting, and game preparation.

During his first season on staff, Soto helped the Pomeroys reach the River States Conference Tournament while contributing to the development of three All-River States Conference Second Team selections in Taray Howell, Mike Ajukwa, and Ellis Todd. He also assisted in the growth of key contributors throughout the roster as the program established a strong defensive identity.

Known for his energy and ability to connect with student-athletes, Soto plays an important role in daily operations and skill development while helping reinforce the program’s culture of toughness, accountability, and connectedness.
