Saint Mary-of-the-Woods

2025 (Senior): Appeared in six games during SMWC’s undefeated MSFL championship season. Vernelson caught 17 passes for 205 yards and one touchdown, averaging 12.1 yards per reception. He recorded season highs of 66 receiving yards against both Midway and Bellarmine, including three catches with a 30-yard reception in the MSFL semifinal victory. Vernelson scored on a 20-yard reception in the road win at Quincy and earned Honorable Mention All-MSFL honors.

2024 (Junior): Appeared in eight games and caught 14 passes for 194 yards and one touchdown, averaging 13.9 yards per reception.

Sophomore | 2023

• Assisted the Pomeroy offense coaching staff after suffering a knee injury in the spring. Aims to return to the field in 2024.

Freshman | 2022

• Started as quarterback in the inaugural MSFL Championship, leading the team to a 27-6 victory over Calumet College of St. Joseph with one passing and one rushing touchdown.
• Began the season as a wide receiver before an ankle injury, recording 9 receptions for 90 yards and one touchdown.
• Only athlete in Pomeroy history to score touchdowns by receiving, passing, and rushing.
