KOKOMO, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's volleyball team entered Thursday night's River States Conference clash ranked No. 2 in the league standings and will exit the contest in the same position after falling 3–0 (25–14, 25–14, 25–18) to No. 15 IU Kokomo inside the Student Activities and Events Center.
The Pomeroys (29–3, 12–2 RSC) saw their 12-match winning streak come to an end against the nationally ranked Cougars (24–5, 14–0 RSC), who remained unbeaten in conference play and atop the standings. IU Kokomo hit .333 as a team, compared to .058 for SMWC, while both teams finished with two total blocks.

Senior
Karla Melendez led the Pomeroys with
11 kills and
seven digs, while
Masa Pesic added
seven kills and
two block assists. Setter
Aden Britt guided the offense with
20 assists, and
Leishmarie Virella anchored the defense with
10 digs and
two aces.
Selena Sosa added six digs and a block assist, and
Evelyn Morales chipped in one kill and one solo block.
For IU Kokomo,
Lexi Broyles posted a match-high
12 kills on an impressive
.688 hitting percentage, while
Mya Grigsby added
11 kills and
seven digs.
Cali Cummings contributed
nine kills at a .583 clip, and setter
Allison Richman directed the Cougar attack with
27 assists.
