SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. -- The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's soccer team battled with perennial NAIA power Grace College (Ind.) but eventually fell 3-0 to the visitors on a hot late summer day on Saturday (Aug. 24) at the SMWC Soccer Complex.
The Pomeroys fell to 1-2-0 on the season while Grace improved to 2-0.
Grace would score in the third and 39th minutes to take a 2-0 edge into the halftime. They came back out and scored again the 48th minute to stretch the lead out to 3-0 and earn the victory.
Lauren Rindone recorded eight saves in the first half of action before giving way in goal to
Yajaira Jimenez who posted four saves in her first action as a Pomeroy.
SMWC will return to action on Friday, August 30 when they travel across the Wabash Valley to Rose-Hulman for a 5 p.m. (ET) kickoff.
