OWENSBORO, Ky. -- The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's volleyball team rebounded for a 3-1 win at Brescia (Ky.) in the regular season finale for both teams.

SMWC improved to 31-6, 10-6 RSC while Brescia fell to 7-26, 3-13 RSC. Matchups and game announcements with come later for the upcoming River States Conference Championship Tournament which begins on Tuesday, November 12 at the sites of Top 4 seeds in the regular season standings.

SMWC won the match by set scores of 25-22, 20-25, 25-19, 25-19. 

Alex Hernandez paced the offensive attack with 11 kills while Isabel Hansen chipped in with eight and Lisanel Rodriguez added seven. Aden Britt tallied a pair of service aces while she had 17 set assists and Alexis Keoho posted 20. Karla Melendez added 10 digs in the victory. Vivien Reese and Hansen led the way with four total blocks for the Pomeroys. 

SMWC battled back in the opening set to take a 24-21 lead on a Hansen kill and won the set on a Brescia attack error. The Pomeroys won the third set by the score of 25-19 with a pair of kills from Hernandez. In the fourth set, SMWC scored six in a row to stretch its lead out to 18-10. Another kill from Hernandez gave SMWC the 25-19 win in the fourth set.
