SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. - The SMWC Men's Soccer team earned their first River States Conference (RSC) bid and the first official bid for the Department since joining the RSC this fall. The team will enter the tournament as the #5 seed out of six teams and will face #4 West Virginia University Tech this Saturday, November 6th in West Virginia at 5:00 p.m. ET.
The team is led by Sophomore
Juan Parra in scoring with 13 goals on the season and he is followed closely by Freshman
Hamza Zagmouzi with 10.
Luis Botello's 4 assists paces all players and Senior
Andrew Aceituno has been the mainstay in the goal for the Pomeroys with 17 goals allowed and 45 saves.
The Pomeroys wrapped up their season with an impressive 8-4-2 record while going 6-3-1 in the conference. The men completed their season with back-to-back conference wins over Carlow and Point Park. They'll look to continue their momentum, having scored 11 goals in two matches, into the postseason.
