Box Score SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's basketball defeated Danville on Wednesday night, 98-76, to improve to 9-15 on the year.
Senior Ja'Breena Gardner led five Pomeroys in double figures with 27 points. Sophomore Callan Taylor recorded 17 points, freshman Mara Canada scored 14 points, senior Na-Shaunda Rayford recorded 12 points and senior Bria Hill recorded 10 points. Junior Tara Parmer recorded her ninth double-double of the season with 12 rebounds and 11 assists.
The Pomeroys jumped out to an early lead and never fell behind, as they cruised to their second consecutive victory Wednesday night. SMWC shot 43 percent (40-of-94) from the field and forced 24 turnovers that they were able to turn into 31 points.
SMWC will be back in action on February 18 when they host Rochester at 2 p.m. on senior day.
