Box Score OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's basketball team fell at Brescia on Tuesday, 94-60. The Pomeroys now sit at 3-8 and will head to Robert Morris – Peoria tomorrow.
Senior Na-Shaunda Rayford led all Pomeroys with 13 points, while freshman Mara Canada added 11 points. Junior Tara Parmer led SMWC with 13 rebounds and five assists.
The Pomeroys found themselves in an early hole after falling behind 23-15 after the first quarter. From there, the Pomeroys were outscored 23-17 in the second to head into halftime down, 46-32. In the second half, Brescia continued to handle SMWC's defensive pressure, which led to the Bearcats expanding their lead and ultimately taking home the 94-60 victory over SMWC.
The Pomeroys will be back in action tomorrow when they head to Robert Morris – Peoria for an important USCAA matchup before break.
