#PomeroyWBB Goes 1-1 at Greenville Invite

GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's basketball team moved to 3-6 on the year after going 1-1 at this past weekend's Greenville College Invitational. The Pomeroys defeated MacMurray, 86-76 on Friday, before falling to host Greenville 112-52 on Saturday.

Junior Tara Parmer led SMWC against MacMurray to start the weekend by scoring 30 points, while senior Bria Hill led the Pomeroys on the glass with nine rebounds. SMWC jumped out early on MC in the first, 28-20, before MC won rounds two and three by outscoring SMWC 14-10 in the second and 22-21 in the third. SMWC finished the game with a strong fourth quarter to outscore MC 27-20 to claim the win.

In SMWC's second game of the invite vs. Greenville, GC got the better of SMWC, 112-52. Sophomore Callan Taylor led SMWC offensively with 13 points, while defensively freshman Ke'Chell Tate recorded five steals.

The Pomeroys now prepare to host Spalding on December 14 for the final home game of 2016. The game will start at 7 p.m. Fans who donate a canned good or toy at the gate will receive free admission. Donations will go to Terre Haute Catholic Charities during this Christmas season.
