Box Score EAST CHICAGO, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) women's soccer team fell 4-0 to Calumet College of St. Joseph on Saturday during the first day of the CCSJ Invite.
CCSJ scored twice in the first half and twice in the second half. The Crimson Wave tallied goals at the 1:57, 14:01, 52:10 and 70:09 marks.
Sophomore Yadira Castellanos was the only Pomeroy to record a shot on goal in SMWC's season-opener, which came in the 36th minute. Junior Georgie Macy spent 79:57 in goal, recording three saves and allowing four goals before sophomore Shannon Sonderman came in for the final 10:03 of the match.
The Pomeroys will now face Mount Mercy, who fell to William Penn 3-0 in their first match of the invite, in tomorrow's consolation match of the CCSJ Invite. LIVE video and stats can be found at the CCSJ Invite Headquarters.
