Pomeroys Fall to IU-Southeast

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's basketball team fell on Thursday night to Indiana University Southeast, 121-79. The Pomeroys are now 1-2 on the year.

The Pomeroys were led in scoring by sophomore Tara Parmer's 20 points. Junior JaBreena Gardner contributed 13 points, while freshman Kaley Sosnowski added 10 points. Gardner also led the Pomeroys defensively with six steals, while Parmer grabbed her first double-double of the year by hauling in 10 rebounds to go with her 20 points.

The Pomeroys struggled through the first two quarters and trailed 69-38 heading into the break. SMWC came out in the third quarter and matched IUSE as both sides put 28 points on the board. In the fourth quarter, the Pomeroys were outscored 24-13 to fall 121-79.

The Pomeroys will be back in action on November 17 when they host Greenville in the Knoerle Center. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. tip and will feature LIVE video and stats through the Pomeroys Live Portal
