Matt McLaren’s football coaching career includes time on both sides of the football.
McLaren has spent his high school coaching career as a coordinator at Sullivan High School and Richland County (Olney, Ill.) High School. McLaren will also coach the offensive and defensive lines.
"This is a dream job," McLaren said of the chance to help Powell build a program from the ground up. "I've coordinated a defense for six years and an offense for four years so I know the expectations that Blaine has for his coaches and his players. I'm just excited to continue to be a part of that."
McLaren had a successful 7-year tenure as head baseball coach at Sullivan High School. He moved on to Richland County High School in Olney, Ill., to serve as the offensive coordinator of the football team before returning to Sullivan to spend time as both offensive and defensive coordinator.
McLaren has a B.S. in Sports Administration from the University of Indianapolis, where he played baseball, in addition to a MBA, Marketing from the University of Indianapolis.
