Fabian Munoz

Fabian Munoz enters his first year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in 2026-27.

Munoz joined the Pomeroys in June 2026 through Progressive Health and Union Health after serving as the athletic trainer for Casey-Westfield Junior-Senior High School during the 2025-26 academic year.

Before arriving at SMWC, Munoz spent nearly three years as an outreach athletic trainer for Forté Sports Medicine at Indiana University Kokomo. In that role, he designed and supervised rehabilitation programs, provided injury assessment and emergency care during practices and competitions, managed acute and chronic injuries and coordinated student-athlete care with coaches, physicians and other healthcare providers. He also traveled with teams for postseason competition and maintained medical records in accordance with NAIA and institutional policies.

Munoz previously served as the athletic trainer for Danville Community High School through Hendricks Regional Health from 2020-22. He provided year-round care for more than 350 student-athletes, developed injury-prevention programs, supervised postoperative rehabilitation and helped establish emergency action and inclement-weather procedures.

He began his professional career at Ball State University, serving as an Assistant Athletic Trainer from 2018-20. Munoz worked primarily with the Cardinals’ women’s basketball and men’s and women’s tennis programs while providing injury evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and referrals.

Munoz earned a Bachelor of Athletic Training from Ball State in 2018 and a Master of Arts in Sports Performance from Ball State in 2022. A native Spanish speaker, he is a licensed and certified athletic trainer and holds current Basic Life Support, CPR and AED certification through the American Heart Association. He has also completed specialized training in neurologic dry needling for pain management and sports rehabilitation.
